Summary
Under the direction of the Food and Beverage Management team, the pool attendant is responsible for creating a genuine and unforgettable experience for every guest at the pool. This position supports a variety of pool services, not limited to providing towels, amenities, seating options, and has exceptional knowledge of food and beverage menu items available to the guests. The pool attendant is an outgoing, motivated individual, capable of adapting to change in a fast-paced service-driven environment.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Welcomes guest and directs them to the appropriate area, opens the pool gate.
- Pool services include but are not limited to: providing our guest with towels, food, and drinks as well as assisting with use of the equipment.
- Provides accurate information to guests in a courteous manner, filling all reasonable guest requests while anticipating their needs and accommodations around the pool and cabanas.
- Monitors activities at the pool to prevent accidents and to ensure safety of all guests while in the pool or pool area.
- Demonstrates ability to process payment transactions accurately. This includes payments in cash, credit, gift card, comps, etc.
- Makes cocktails when needed and utilizes the bars, beverage carts when needed selling food and drink
- Makes grab and go food items stocks product when needed and communicates to ar back when items are low.
- Possesses ability to balance and reconcile a cash bank and perform cashier transactions.
- Assists the EVS Department / Hotel Staff with replenishing towels around the pool in accordance with Soboba Casino Resort standards and Health Department regulations.
- Assists with food running and table bussing, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
- Attends and participates in all staff / pre-shift meetings.
- Other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time.
Education / Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age, or older.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous guest service experience preferred.
- Must possess basic math skills.
- Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather such as seasonal hot or cold temperatures.
- Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and commitment to achieve a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Must be able to provide service in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to multi-task or handle multiple guests in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in challenging situations.
- Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
Certificates, licenses and registration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license
- Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate / automated external defibrillator (AED) certification preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain County of Riverside Food Handlers Card within seven (7) days of date of hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain TIPS certification (Training for Intervention Procedures).
- Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certified, or able to obtain certification within 60 days of date of hire.
