What are the responsibilities and job description for the Noli Bus Driver position at Soboba?
SUMMARY:
Bus driver will operate either a bus, school bus or school van to transport school children over designated routes; and do other work as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include:
- Drive a van or bus daily/weekends over designated routes in accordance with time schedules
- Picking up and discharging school children.
- Escorts children across streets when necessary.
- Transport children and teachers on field trips to various locations.
- Make departures and arrivals according to schedule.
- Maintain the bus/van in a clean and safe operating condition.
- Maintain good order among the students on the buses/vans and waiting at the bus stops.
- Following school policies regarding the disciplining of children and contact with the parents and other citizens
- Prepare operational reports and reports of needed bus repairs.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Licenses & Certificates: Required valid commercial class B driver’s license with P/S endorsement.
- Valid CA special driver certificate.
- Valid medical examination card.
EXPERIENCE
- Two years of successful driving experience with a demonstrated record of safe driving.
- Experience driving a school bus or equivalent passenger transportation vehicle is desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A valid and appropriate California Driver's License
- Safe driving record
- Basic First Aide
- Knowledge of California Motor Vehicle Codes and Education Codes applicable to the operation of vehicles in transporting children
REQUIRED
