Road Runner Express Shift Lead

SUMMARY

The Shift Lead for the Roadrunner Express is responsible for overseeing the Clerks on the shift. The Shift Lead also acts as a Clerk during their shift when needed. The Shift Lead may be responsible for opening and closing responsibilities for store. The Shift Lead will be responsible for training new Clerks and providing overall assistance and supervision. This position is responsible for monitoring customer service levels and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include the following:

• Operates the Point-of-Sale system providing customer service at the register.
• Provides training, development, coaching and supervision to of Clerks.
• Oversees daily work of Clerks.
• Assists store management in auditing.
• Walks the store and ensures that all merchandise is stocked and displayed in a safe and attractive manner.
• Handles cash management for the store, including closing out drawers, according to policy and procedure.
• Familiar with and follows operating procedures.
• Assists store management with maintaining quality brand image and standards.
• Ensures high levels of customer service and provides resolution for customer disputes

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Six (6) months or more of retail experience
• Six (6) months or more of previous customer service experience
• Preferred previous supervisor or lead experience
• Food Handler’s Card or the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card within 30 days of employment.

SKILLS

• Ability to lead others using persuasive, non-confrontational traits
• Demonstrates a willingness to solve customer disputes using a calm demeanor
• Has the ability to learn new systems and train Clerks on systems
• Introductory level computer skills
• Supports store management goals for sales and customer service

• Current California Identification.
• Ability to lift to 45 pounds unassisted.
