JOB TITLE: Patrol Officer
LOCATION: Soboba Economic Development Corporation, Roadrunner Express
REPORTS TO: Store Manager
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Non-Exempt / Full-Time and Part-Time
NUMBER OF POSITIONS NEEDED: Six (6)
SUMMARY
Responsible for the protection of Roadrunner Express assets, the safety of team members, and customers. Surveillance of buildings and properties located on the Roadrunner Express store. Maintain visual monitoring of property for the purpose of security. Maintain observation of team members to ensure that policies and procedures are followed. Make verbal and written reports to supervisors. Interact with law enforcement personnel and other representatives. Provide friendly and courteous service to all persons entering and exiting the Roadrunner Express store. Responsible for granting or denying access to Roadrunner Express based on established policies and procedures.
Must maintain an attitude of cooperation with all team members and guests at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include the following:
- Maintain daily activity reports.
- Prepare narrative and incident reports as required and in accordance with established directives.
- Conduct routine patrol duties.
- Observe and report incidents, activities, circumstances and any unusual occurrences.
- Operate all vehicles and equipment in a safe manner.
- Protect assets including but not limited to; store merchandise, equipment, gas pumps, and other property owned by Roadrunner Express.
- Assist team members in emergencies.
- Report any major disturbances or problems to immediate supervisor or Law Enforcement personnel.
- Verify identification as needed, for entry to store by team members.
- Record on Visitor Log sheet all Guests, Vendors and contractors being called into store.
- Provide directions and assistance as required.
- Identify Law Enforcement Personnel, (Riverside County Sherriff, California Highway Patrol) uniformed personnel in marked vehicles when they enter the store. Report all Law Enforcement, and emergency response (Cal Fire, American Medical Response) to store manager immediately upon entrance, including destination and reason, if known.
- Utilize a database using a computer and monitor as required.
- Capable of working flexible schedules including holidays and weekends.
- Prepare written reports that are accurate, clear, concise and legible as required.
- Interact with all departments and outside agencies as required.
- Respond quickly and safely to emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Conduct escorts and assist personnel as needed.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all Rules, Regulations, Policies, Procedures, Directives, General Orders, and other documents as they relate to security duties and responsibilities.
- Appearance Standards shall be professional (neat and clean).
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times.
- Maintain an attitude of cooperation with all team members, vendors, contractors, guests or other persons at the store.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-year previous experience in a security, law enforcement or military role.
- P.O.S.T. Certificate preferred
SKILLS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior customer service skills and professionalism.
- Able to work with supervision and/or independently.
- Able to organize workload in order to meet deadlines.
- Able to stand and walk for long periods of time.

REQUIRED
- First Aid, CPR, & AED Certified.
- Current California Guard Card.
- OC Pepper Spray training.
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds unassisted.
- All applicants are required to complete a pre-screen Background Clearing and Drug Test.
