We are a fast-growing, results-oriented company operating Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Dos Olivos Markets, and Alta Gama Foods locations throughout South and Central Texas. Our Sobremesa Hospitality Management family is growing and we're looking for an HR Director to join our team. Our mission is to provide exceptional dining experiences through high-quality food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere.


The HR Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes within our companies. This includes managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with labor laws. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading Human Resources departments and strategic initiatives. Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in QSR and full-service restaurant environments, is highly desirable.


Areas of Focus:


HR Strategy: Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives.

HR Operations: Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, performance management, and talent development.

Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment efforts, ensuring top-tier candidates are selected through effective sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding processes.

Employee Engagement: Promote a positive work environment, enhance employee engagement, and address workplace issues to maintain a healthy and motivated workforce.

Compliance: Understand labor laws and regulations; ensure proper filing of payroll taxes, and IRS forms.


Responsibilities:


Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.

Advise senior management on HR-related matters and provide strategic input to support business growth.

Oversee the recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring of staff for both QSR and full-service restaurant locations.

Develop and implement effective onboarding programs to ensure smooth integration of new hires.

Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts through effective mediation and problem-solving techniques.

Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to monitor and evaluate employee performance.

Provide guidance and support to managers in addressing performance issues and developing improvement plans.

Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and career development.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements through continuous education and training.

Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.

Maintain and update HR policies and procedures as needed.

Develop and monitor HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives.

Prepare reports for senior management on HR activities and performance.


Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Experience in QSR and full-service restaurant environments is preferred.

Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
