Contract Length : 6 month contract to hire
Job Description :
Our client is seeking a Field Technician to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role will be responsible for onsite support at the Boston Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZBW / ARTCC). This position will also support remote locations around the New England area.
Must Haves :
- 5 years of experience working with fiber, Carrier Ethernet, Multiplexes, DACS, Routers / Switches, Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice, and Data applications.
- Hands on Telecomm / wiring background
- Experience with logging into network equipment and circuit testing using a verity of different test equipment / laptop
- Knowledge and usage of multiple test equipment : Examples are : Viavi 5800, JDSU HST3000, DataScout, Ameritech AM5XT, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Anritsu Spectrum Analyzer and other T1 / DS3 Test sets.
- Experience with Microsoft and the components of the MS Office Suite.
- Experience with cable connectors and replacement including RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449, BNC and 50 pin Amphenol.
