POSITION SUMMARY 

LVN or LPT Detox Technicians are responsible for the shift-by-shift supervision of the patient milieu and attending to patient's essential needs while on detoxification and residential protocols.LVN or LPT Detox Technicians are the core of our company with unparalleled access to patients requiring the greatest representation of our professionalism, values, and culture. SoCal Detox is a 12 bed inpatient medical stabilization and residential substance use disorder treatment facility focused on patient centered, collaborative, and compassionate care.

Essential Functions: 

Conducting admissions of patients including orientation, intake assessment, urine screen, medication management, protocols and recurring assessments, secure search/storage of personal property.

Hourly adherence to Joint Commission and DHCS patientc care standards.

Communicating with medical team, and following physician orders in overseeing patient medication management.

Proficient documentation in KIPU Systems patient management software.

Documentation of patient daily progress.

Facility walk-throughs and maintaining control of care environment establishing a consistent presence and awareness of patient behavior.

Knowledge of withdrawal management and symptoms 

Enforcing policies and procedures

Maintaining cleanliness of facility, infection control rounds, and sanitization per Joint Commission, DHCS standards and company policy.

Maintaining patient schedules.

Delegation of necessary tasks to support staff and fulfilling support staff duties as needed.

Collaboration with al departments and department heads 

Recurring assessment, interaction, observation, and documentation of patients status and behavior.

Communicating thoroughly and accurately verbally and via shift notes to ensure continuity of high quality of care.

Crisis Intervention.

Conducting patient discharge, returning patient personal items, logging and following destruction of medication procedures, coordinating patient transportation and continuity of care with next level of care environment and/or facility.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Competencies: 

Ability to multi-task, delegate tasks, manage patient care, maintain facility standards.

Desire to assist those with chemical dependency in their recovery.

Effective communication with all staff, relationships, and family members of patients 

Must be able to work well with all departments in a passion centered, collaborative environment. 

Education: 

Minimum High School Graduate or GED. 

2 years college preferred with emphasis in Human Services. 

Active Nursing License 

Experience: 

1-2 years experience in the field of substance use disorder treatment  or equivalent human services work experience preferred.  

Prior experience in medical stabilization environment highly desired.

**Willing to train the right candidate with no experience** 

Computer Skills: 

Computer Literacy in doc, spreadsheet, and email.  

Proficiency in KIPU Systems Client Management Software preferred

Certificates & Licenses:  

LVN license

LPT license 

*Graduate pending NCLEX

Valid Driver’s License

CPR/First AID

Other Requirements:

Negative TB test results within past year

Medical Clearance to work within past year

Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screeningS

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

Work is performed during day and night shifts primarily in residential detox facility.  This includes work in facility office as well as the grounds of the entire facility including upstairs patient rooms, clinical office, and laundry room that are accessed via staircase, and outdoor grounds. Staff periodically drive patients in company vehicles for intakes/discharges at other treatment facilities and transportation hubs, to doctor appointments, to outings and recovery meetings. Work is often performed in emergency and stressful situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.
