What are the responsibilities and job description for the Soccer for the Future - Volunteer Coach - DC position at Soccer for the Future?
Soccer for the Future is a nonprofit organization that hosts soccer programs for children experiencing cancer and other serious illnesses. We are a small organization that is slowly growing and could use some extra help at our DC programs. If you're ready to directly make an impact in the lives of children with serious illnesses, then this role is for you!
The ideal Coach would meet the following criteria :
- Can arrive on time to each session, can handle a group of 5-8 children, keep accurate attendance, communicates well.
- Neat in appearance, friendly and courteous with staff and director as well as parents, and is self-assured.
- Must enjoy interacting with young children (5 – 12 years old) and be able to connect with them on their level, making the soccer session the best 40-60 minutes of their week. You must be very outgoing and animated; able to be silly with the children.
- Soccer experience is preferred, however, if you are great with children and have some familiarity with the game, that would work.
- Must be available on Mondays in DC
- from 4 : 00pm – 6 : 00pm
- Must be fully vaccinated and able to wear a mask while coaching even if outdoors.
- Must be at least 18 years or older.
In addition to the above, a successful candidate must pass a Child Abuse History Clearance and
Background Check.
Soccer for the Future will provide all the tools and support you need to lead a
fun and uplifting soccer session.
Programs are set tostart on March 6, 2023 and will continue for 6 week sessions
with 1 week breaks through the duration of the year. Volunteers must be able to
commit to at least the first 6 weeks.
