Retail District Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: 40-45 hours per week working a range of retail hours
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Retail District Manager to oversee multiple Soccer Village store locations within the Cincinnati area. Responsibilities will include driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, monitoring and managing operational costs, and ensuring the effective implementation of marketing strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the retail industry, a strong leadership presence, and the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead and develop store team across multiple locations, providing coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Collaborating with the management team to set goals for each store.
  • Promote a positive and motivating work environment that encourages professional growth and a strong team culture.
  • Conduct regular store visits to ensure team alignment with Soccer Village standards and objectives.
  • Foster a strong commitment to customer service and ensure team members are delivering a memorable experience for our customers.
Sales & Profitability:
  • Drive sales performance and meet/exceed sales goals by analyzing key metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work with store managers to develop and execute sales strategies and promotional campaigns.
  • Monitor inventory and sales trends to ensure product availability, optimal stock levels, and a focus on high-demand items.
  • Implement store-specific action plans to optimize profitability and customer engagement.
Operational Excellence:
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures for operational processes, including visual merchandising, inventory management, and loss prevention.
  • Maintain consistent communication with corporate headquarters and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor store expenses and budget compliance, identifying areas for cost reduction or improvement.
  • Handle escalated customer service issues or operational challenges to ensure positive resolutions.
Staff Development & Training:
  • Recruit, train, and develop store staff to enhance their skills. Including coaching, mentoring, and evaluating job performance.
  • Provide ongoing training and development to enhance staff product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service.
  • Prepare and deliver regular performance reviews to store staff, outlining growth opportunities and goals.
Qualifications:
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to multiple store locations as required.
  • Sales-oriented: Strong ability to drive sales and profitability while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various levels of employees, customers, and executives.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to quickly identify issues and implement solutions, including handling customer complaints or operational challenges.
  • Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with retail management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or related field preferred.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in retail management, with a minimum of 2 years in a district or multi-store management role, ideally within the retail or sports industry.
