Social Recovery Center is an established and growing Substance Use Disorder/Mental Health outpatient treatment facility. We provide Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient, PHP and Co-occuring level of care treatment in a beautiful, newly renovated facility in Springfield, NJ. The Substance Abuse/Mental Health Clinician is responsible for carrying a caseload of approximately 14 clients, providing individual and group therapy and being a part of a dynamic team of passionate and skilled professional counselors.
Primary Clinical Responsibilities:
- Assessing clients using the ASI or other standardized clinical interview tool, and diagnosing clients for substance use disorder using the DSM-5;
- Determining the appropriate level of care according to ASAM Criteria;
- Obtaining previous records that are relevant to the current treatment episode;
- Collaborating with the client to develop a written treatment plan that includes goals and measurable objectives, and is client-centered and recovery-oriented;
- Reviewing clients throughout the treatment episode according to the ASAM Criteria, to determine the need for continued services, transfer, or discharge/transfer;
- Reviewing and, where necessary, revising the client's treatment plan to address ongoing problems;
- Developing a client discharge/transfer plan to ensure movement to the appropriate levels of care;
- Contact, case consultation if necessary, and coordination with referral sources, (for example, mental health treatment providers, criminal justice agencies, schools, employers, DCPP)
- Participating as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Providing active case consultation in a collaborative setting
- Documenting all counseling and education services, assessments, reassessments, referrals, and follow-ups in the client's clinical record, and providing appropriate signatures and dating of such entries, including those made in electronic records.
- Completing all documentation as needed and on time
- Attend scheduled supervision with the Clinical Director
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Certification or licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor (e.g., CADC, LCADC)
-Experience in crisis management and intervention
- Knowledge of family counseling techniques
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies
- Strong understanding of addiction counseling principles and evidence-based treatment modalities
- Ability to provide individual and group therapy sessions
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in medical documentation and recordkeeping
