Crisis Intervention Specialist

We are hiring for a full time temporary assignment for 3 - 6 months.

Schedule:

(Tues- Sat)

Tues, Thurs- Sat- 9AM - 5:30PM and Wednesdays 12 noon - 8:30PM.

Temporary Crisis Intervention Specialist to provide short-term crisis intervention, assessment, triage, and counseling support at our community programs and housing sites. This position will also assist our resident case manager in crisis response and resource navigation for LGBTQ older adults. The role is designed to provide additional support while multiple staff members are on leave.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to LGBTQ older adults during programming and community events.
• Assess and triage crisis situations, offering appropriate referrals and de-escalation as needed.
• Attend a Wednesday evening support group for Transgender, Gender Non-conforming, and Intersex community members, and provide crisis response and counseling.
• Collaborate with the resident case manager to address urgent needs and provide day-to-day resource connections.
• Maintain accurate documentation of crisis responses and interventions.
• Engage with community members in a culturally competent, trauma-informed, and LGBTQ-affirming manner.

• Complete registration and Community Member Agreements for participants enrolled in program.

• Support Manager of Programs in conducting program evaluations and Consumer Satisfaction surveys twice per year with seniors and volunteers to maintain high quality programming tailored to program outcomes.

• Enter data collected using internal databases and external reporting systems

Qualifications & Experience:

• 3 years of case management, crisis support, and social service experience working with older adults.
• Strong background in crisis intervention, assessment, and trauma-informed care.
• Deep understanding of LGBTQ lived experiences, with specific experience supporting Transgender and Non-binary individuals.
