Responsibilities
- Operational Risk Manager (ORM) working within the Firm's 2LOD is responsible for supporting operational risk management programs such as Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Incident Collection and Reporting, Key Risk Indicators, Controls, Issues Management, Reporting, etc.
- Working with the first line- of- defense (1 LOD) to provide guidance and effective challenge in the identification and management of its operational risks, defining and implementing remediation plans and risk acceptance taken by the business line.
- Develop, enhance and manage the operational control framework for SGEF and work with all departments to identify and mitigate different risks identified.
- Work with Internal Audit as a primary interface for operational and other audit matters.
- Conduct investigations / post mortems of operational incidents / issues and identify root causes.
- Review business processes in precise detail to identify areas of potential improvement or weaknesses in risk management controls.
- Form solid working relationships with the 1LOD and become a trusted advisor.
- Work closely with OpRisk management both locally and in Paris for reporting and metrics
- Foster relationships with other risk partners (IT, Cyber Security, Third Party Risk Management, Model Risk, etc...)
- In the context of the Leadership model, the ORM will invest its time and skills towards teamwork, act ethically and with courage, propose new ideas and contribute to change management. Finally, lead by example to provide support to colleagues and / or other teams. All these actions and values will contribute to the development of client positive impact (client being internal or external).
- Follow-up on red flags and corrective action items, not just for tracking purposes but also assist with full implementation
Profile required
Independent from the Business Line SG Equipment Finance's (SGEF's) second line-of-defense (2LOD) is to contribute to the development of the SG Group's activity by facilitating the objectives of the Business Lines while maintaining independent oversight through risk evaluation and monitoring. The 2LOD RISQ group in SGEF supports all the activities of SGEF US in the Americas Region (US, Canada, and Mexico).
The mission of the Operational Risk Management department (RISQ / OPE) is to provide independent, objective and leading operational risk management challenge and oversight services to assist the firm in reviewing, developing and maintaining an effective system of risk management.
This individual, as part of the Risk Management team supports SGEFs Leadership Team in their oversight of the governance, risk and control and evaluation frameworks and tolerances of Operational Risk, while achieving and maintaining the highest level of professional standards. An objective is to educate the employees on the importance of operational risk management which is based on the principle that "everyone is an operational risk manager."
The individual will report directly to the CRO and provide proactive advice to help management identify and measure key risks, and to help identify control gaps in existing and expanding businesses. As SGEF-US is a small organization, this individual in this role is expected to work closely with the first line-of-defense (1LOD) and SGEF management in crafting solutions to operational issues.

COMPENSATION :
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and / or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
