The Department of Neurobiology and Biophysics at the University of Washington (UW), Seattle, invites applications for one full-time (10-month) Assistant Teaching Professor with a focus on neuroscience, starting no earlier than September 16, 2025. The initial appointment is for three years, with the possibility of renewal. The position is non-tenure eligible.

The UW Department of Neurobiology and Biophysics is a large collaborative and integrative department that provides a supportive research and teaching environment, actively engages with faculty and students on topics of diversity and equity, has a long-term strategic hiring plan, and is equipped with classrooms designed for active learning in the new Health Sciences Education Building. The UW is also a nationwide leader in neuroscience research, integrated with a broad biological and computational research and teaching program stretching from molecules to systems, with an emphasis in STEM pedagogy and education research.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching efforts in the undergraduate Neuroscience major and in the Department of Neurobiology and Biophysics. This position supports all course content for Neuroscience 301 and 302, with a primary responsibility for leading and developing the undergraduate laboratories for these courses, which are largely electrophysiology oriented. This position also includes serving as instructor of record for instructing teaching interns from the Graduate Program in Neuroscience. This position provides opportunities for mentorship and guidance of undergraduate students and supporting their ongoing career development. The successful candidate will enhance and augment the Department of Neurobiology and Biophysics' missions of teaching, service, and outreach.

The base salary range for this position will be $7,778 - $9,621 per month ($93,336 - $115,452) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D., or foreign equivalent, in an area related to neuroscience or physiology by the date of appointment.

The applicant must have research and teaching expertise in the areas of neuroscience or physiology, with at least one year of experience performing electrophysiology in a research or teaching setting.
