Position Description

The School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) seeks to fill two tenure system senior faculty positions with scholars leading clinical trials. Faculty assessing pharmaceutical or device-based interventions with FDA oversight (approved IND or IDE) will be prioritized for hire. Applicants leading rigorous clinical trial programs outside the oversight of the FDA will also be considered. These positions require an active research program with current extramural funding, publications in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals, and a history of institutional and professional service.

Successful applicants will be appointed to the Department of Neuroscience, Department of Psychology, or the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing. Joint appointments are possible for faculty with multi-disciplinary interests and research programs. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate level courses within the successful applicants' disciplines.

The appointments will commence for the fall 2025 semester.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience: Either an MD or PhD or equivalent is required. A vigorous externally funded research program broadly housed in the disciplines of neuroscience, psychology, or speech, language, and hearing is required, with a significant history of clinical research. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to produce research and scholarly or creative achievements that enhance the program and the discipline, and able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

The School and Departments

Cross-listing of undergraduate and graduate seminars facilitates multi-disciplinary student education.

All three BBS Departments are home to thriving undergraduate programs with multiple tracks that support students with diverse career interests, in addition to offering robust Masters' degrees and PhD programs. BBS additionally houses highly regarded clinical education programs in both Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology and is in the process of launching a new Clinical Psychological Science program.
