JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Position : EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Location : Springfield, VA
Salary Range : $82,764 / Annually
Full-time / Permanent / Exempt
Open period : 2 October 2024 to 9 November 2024
Job Summary : Manages National Office for diverse 10,000 member Association of Active Duty, Reserve and Retired Coast Guard men and women. Responsible for administrative duties including maintaining membership records, preparing and distributing reports, and drafting correspondence. Produces quarterly membership magazine & monthly e-newsletter; administers Association finances including payroll, accounts payable / receivable, tax issues, etc., and assists National Board of Directors to produce annual budgets. Serves as Association’s representative at meetings with Federal, State, Military and other entities as needed. Supervises Membership Coordinator; reports to National CPOA President.
Key Requirements : Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Experience with InDesign desktop publishing software and QuickBooks preferred. Competence in budget planning / financial management methods, and excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) required. Must be available to travel during the summer to the Association’s week-long Annual Convention. Knowledge of military protocols and pay & benefits issues a plus. Must be a U.S. citizen.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently and possesses exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Must be detail-oriented with proven ability to multi-task & set priorities.
Experience : Minimum of ten years working in positions of increasing responsibility in administrative field. A college degree in business administration or similar field is a plus.
Physical demands : Frequent sitting, standing and stooping to access equipment and supplies, occasional lifting and moving up to 25 lbs.
