Manager, Professional Development Program
Pay Range: $85,000-$100,000
This is a hybrid position that is based in our Chicago/O’Hare Area office. Applicants must live within a 100-mile radius of the home office to be considered for the role.
Your Purpose:
Reporting to the Managing Director, Content and Business Partnerships, this role is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and management of high-quality professional development programs and certificate programs for candidates, members, and other audiences. This includes overseeing the administration of existing certificate programs, developing new professional development offerings, and contributing to the strategic direction of professional development initiatives. The role focuses on enhancing learner experience, improving learning outcomes, and ensuring alignment with organizational strategy. Collaboration with internal teams, volunteers, and external partners is key to delivering impactful education programs.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee the management and administration of certificate programs, ensuring high-quality content, smooth operations, and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Apply strong project management skills to conceptualize, plan, and execute multi-faceted continuing education initiatives.
- Serve as the staff liaison for professional development initiatives, certificate programs, and related volunteer groups.
- Collaborate with and support volunteer groups to develop and deliver high-quality learning experiences across various formats (e.g., in-person, live virtual, and on-demand).
- Prepare regular reports on educational outcomes and sales performance.
- Conduct ongoing program evaluation using learner feedback and performance data to ensure relevance, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Develop new professional development programs and contribute to the strategic direction of professional development initiatives.
- Oversee curriculum design, assessment development, and learning outcomes to enhance the effectiveness of continuing educational offerings.
- Manage vendor contracts and relationships, ensuring adherence to budgetary requirements and quality standards.
- Work closely with staff, volunteers, employers, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment of programs with organizational goals and industry needs.
- Support the development, adaptation, and repurposing of educational content across various learning formats and technologies.
- Provide coordination and oversight for staff responsible for project and program operations.
What You’ll Need:
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated experience managing complex projects.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management experience.
- Experience developing adult learning programs.
- Actuarial credential (ASA or FSA) ideal but not required.
- Knowledge of SOA programs and services, familiarity with other actuarial organizations and/or experience working with diverse cultures highly desired.
- Ability to set direction and manage change.
- Plan, direct, and deliver work to accomplish goals, assure quality, manage risks, and provide value.
- Excellent written and oral communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Team leadership and development skills.
