Position Overview:


The Education Program Specialist will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Learning Management System (LMS) and play a key role in coordinating and delivering educational programs. The role also involves managing product and event registrations through the Association Management System (AMS) and supporting the administration of our event and virtual event platforms. This individual will ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of online resources, webinars, on-demand conference sessions, virtual training courses, and other educational offerings.  


This role reports to the VP of Education and Professional Development and will be integral to advancing our organization's mission by effectively delivering impactful educational experiences and fostering continuous professional development.  


This is a hybrid work position. Mandatory in-office days are Wednesday and one (1) other day during the week in our Alexandria, VA, Headquarters. You May be required to be onsite more frequently during onboarding/training.  


Duties/Responsibilities: 


LMS Administration 

  • Manage and maintain the organization’s LMS, ensuring the system runs smoothly, updating content, fixing technical issues, and identifying ways to improve it. 
  • Set up and configure courses, programs, and on-demand content in the LMS. 
  • Monitor user engagement, provide technical support, and troubleshoot issues for learners and instructors. 
  • Regularly update content, create reports, and manage user permissions and roles. 
  • Stay current on LMS updates, trends, and best practices to optimize performance and user experience. 


AMS and Event Registration 

  • Manage the setup and maintenance of products and event registration workflows in the AMS. 
  • Ensure seamless integration between AMS, LMS, and other systems for consistent user experience. 
  • Maintain registration data and provide reports to support event planning and decision-making. 


Event and Virtual Platform Administration 

  • Provide administrative support for our event platform and virtual events platforms to ensure successful execution. 
  • Assist with platform setup, user management, content uploads, and technical troubleshooting during events. 
  • Collaborate with the events team to optimize platforms for hybrid and virtual experiences. 


Collaboration and Support 

  • Work closely with the education, events, and IT teams to collaborate on achievement of organizational goals and priorities. 
  • Provide support and training for staff, instructors, and users on LMS and event platform functionalities. 
  • Respond to inquiries from participants, instructors, and stakeholders promptly and professionally. 


Qualifications: 

  • 3 years of experience managing an LMS, AMS, or similar platforms, preferably in an educational or professional development setting. 
  • Strong technical skills, including familiarity with content management systems and basic troubleshooting. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills. 
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports for data-driven decision-making.  
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. 
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams. 
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional learner and user experiences. 
  • Experience in instructional design or creating online learning experiences is a plus. 

 

Required Skills: 

  • Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Path LMS, LearnUpon, Crowd Wisdom) and virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom, eventPower, On24). 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint). 
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.  
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. 


Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and keyboard, dexterity to operate office equipment, good hand-eye coordination, and the capacity to focus for sustained periods of time. 
  • May be asked to lift up to five (5) pounds at a time.
