What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier - Bittersweet position at Society of St. Vincent de Paul?
The Cashier contributes to the Agency’s mission by performing regular duties and responsibilities: Greeting and assisting customers, answering questions, operating cash register, opening and closing the Store, helping with pricing and sale of donated merchandise. This position is located at (Bittersweet Shopping Center - 8651 Preston Highway).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a courteous manner
- Operate cash register
- Assists with opening and closing of the Store
- Perform daily duties as directed to keep Store clean and orderly
- Performs other duties as assigned
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to communicate with and assist customers, volunteers, and donors
- Great people skills
- Ability to operate a cash register
- Ability to stand and walk/remain on feet for long periods of time (essential to the job)
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance
- Commitment to the Mission and goals of SVDP
Ø High School diploma/GED
Ø A combination of education, training, and experience that results in demonstrated proficiency to perform the work may be substituted
Ø Successfully pass required pre-employment background and drug screening
