What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Aide – Waypoint VA position at Society of St?
The Waypoint VA Program contains 24 rooms specifically serving Veterans in need of housing. Each Veteran is responsible for paying their own rent. This can include non-Section 8 vouchers, Section 8 vouchers, their own funds, etc. The goal for the program is to house our Heros. Each resident has a private room and shares common areas including restrooms, lounges, computer area, kitchen, dining room and laundry facilities.
The Program Aide for Waypoint VA contributes to the program by supporting the Operations Coordinator with various duties and responsibilities and by helping to maintain a safe and healthy environment for residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide monitoring for the building
- Operations Coordinator in maintaining schedule to ensure proper coverage of front desk and building
- Ensure that the facility and its immediate grounds are safe, clean and orderly by conducting rounds (scheduled and random)
- Address any security concerns to the Operations Coordinator
- Oversee implementation of house rules and procedures to maintain order and structure of operations. This includes but is not limited to:
- Delegating and inspecting chores
- Monitoring sign-in logs
- Checking for the presence of drugs or alcohol
- Manage medication storage and processing in accordance with KY licensure requirements
- Maintain a written log of all activities on each shift
- Responsible for calling emergency services and filing incident reports when applicable
- Work cooperatively with all Staff to sustain program operations and to advise the Operations Coordinator of concerns and needs in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
