Work Location : Downtown Oakland Campus

Hours : Full Time, Regular

Status : Contract, Exempt

Salary Range : $70,000 - $74,000 / year

The Major Gifts Officer will develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift donors for SVdP-Alameda County. This role requires building and maintaining relationships with prospective and current donors, ensuring alignment between donor interests and the organization’s priorities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Identify and research potential major donors, creating tailored strategies for engagement.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, fostering relationships through personalized communication and outreach.
  • Implement stewardship plans to ensure donors are informed about the impact of their contributions and engaged in the organization’s mission.
  • Work closely with the executive team, board members, and other fundraising staff to align fundraising strategies with organizational goals.
  • Plan and execute donor cultivation events, ensuring an impactful experience for attendees.
  • Track and analyze fundraising progress, providing regular reports to leadership on major gift activities and results.
  • Attend community events and engage in networking to identify new major gift prospects.

  • Requirements :

    SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Experience writing grants and maintaining a grants calendar.
  • Experience with in-person solicitations.
  • Experience with cultivation and stewardship events.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and model the nine core values we promote at SVdP : Vincentians, Storytelling, Grit, Accountability, Volunteerism, Kindness, Joy, Kaizen, and Engagement.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel, e-mail, and Web Browser.
  • Excellent time and priority management skills. Ability to successfully manage projects from conception to completion. Ability to prioritize projects, work independently, meet deadlines, manage several projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to understand the financial impact of decisions, actions, and outcomes.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to create and follow outlines, timelines, and reports, and to hold others accountable for completion of tasks.
  • Supervisory or management experience.
  • Good analytic skills and ability to make evidence-based decisions.
  • EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
