Job Summary :
A private family in Purchase, NY, is seeking a dedicated and reliable Property Caretaker / Driver with a strong handyman skill set.
This role will oversee the maintenance of the exterior and assist with repairs inside a large colonial home. The position will initially begin part-time, with the potential to transition to full-time within 90 days based on performance and needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with the lady of the house, providing essential support with household upkeep, errands, and driving her to various appointments and outings.
Responsibilities :
- Perform routine property maintenance, including landscaping, gardening, and repairs to ensure the home's exterior remains in excellent condition.
- Complete light handyman tasks inside the home, such as minor repairs, basic plumbing, and maintenance.
- Serve as the primary driver for the lady of the house, transporting her to doctors' appointments, shopping trips, hair appointments, and social engagements.
- Assist with basic technology troubleshooting, such as setting up emails, managing computer updates, and handling TV connectivity issues.
- Communicate regularly with family members via phone and email to provide updates on household matters, appointments, and the well-being of the lady of the house.
- Act as a caring and patient companion, supporting the lady of the house with a positive demeanor and attentive care.
Requirements :
- Experience in property maintenance and basic handyman skills, ideally within private homes or estates.
- Excellent references from previous employers
- Flexibility to work varying hours and adapt to the family's evolving needs.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to troubleshoot basic household technology.
- A caring, patient, and trustworthy personality, ideally suited for working closely with elderly or high-profile individuals.
- Prior experience working with elderly is a huge plus
- A valid driver’s license
