Network Engineer – Private Family Office

Location: Boston, MA 02210
Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
Schedule: Monday – Friday. With flexibility to work weekends to oversee any emergencies.
Location/Travel: Ideally the role would be fully based out of the Boston, MA Family office but travel will be in Boston, MA and other locations within the Eastcoast as needed.

Job description:
A high-profile private family office seeks a Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, high-performance networks across 50 luxury properties along the East Coast. Reporting to the Director of Home Technology, this role ensures seamless connectivity, cybersecurity, and smart home integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Infrastructure: Design, install, and maintain secure wired and wireless networks across multiple estates.
- System Configuration: Set up and manage routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN, and VPNs.
- Cybersecurity & Monitoring: Implement robust security protocols and proactively troubleshoot network issues to minimize downtime.
- Smart Home Integration: Work with system integrators to support Crestron, Savant, and Control4 for lighting, climate, and security automation.
- On-Site Support & Travel: Provide hands-on troubleshooting, upgrades, and installations across East Coast properties.
- Process Standardization: Develop scalable IT solutions and best practices to ensure consistency across all locations.
- Vendor & Staff Collaboration: Work closely with estate managers, vendors, and staff to maintain high service standards.
- Continuous Innovation: Stay ahead of emerging technologies to enhance estate network performance and security.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in network design, management, and troubleshooting for multi-property environments.
- Expertise in firewalls, switches, SD-WAN, VPNs, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under time-sensitive conditions.
- Excellent communication, discretion, and professionalism.
- Certifications: CCNA or CompTIA Network preferred.
- Ability to travel frequently throughout the East Coast and work flexible hours.
- Familiarity with luxury residential IT and smart home systems (Crestron, Control4, Savant).
- Experience in high-security or private estate environments.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license
- Legal work authorization in the US
