Description
The Aerial Lineman at Socket Telecom is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of
installing, maintaining and repairing stranded / unstranded mainline fiber lines and systems, in addition to drops. The Aerial Lineman is proficient in the operation of running fiber cables and lines from mainline fiber sources to homes and businesses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Familiarity with materials, equipment, rules, regulations, and ordinances governing the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utilities
- Practice Socket required safety procedures and follow applicable state and local vehicle ordinances along with basic construction practices
- Operate various pieces of large equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
- Regularly operate bucket truck
- Assist with pole transfers and aerial construction
- Set poles and place anchors
- Installing various types of fiber cables and wires
- Making repairs to damaged fiber lines
- Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties
- Commit to the overall safety of the work environment by always taking extra precautions to work with the utmost care and consideration
