Job Description
SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - MASSACHUSETTS
This position will report to a Principal or designee level staff member within our Specialty Engineering division. The position will involve a variety of general functions, including but not limited to:
- Design and qualification of buildings, structures and site work in accordance with regulatory codes and industry standards
- Structural qualification of mechanical equipment and systems
- Forensic investigations of structural and equipment failures
- Design and deployment of field and laboratory equipment
- Design and implementation of equipment for structural monitoring
- Advanced analysis of equipment, systems and structures using finite element codes
- Materials engineering and evaluations
- Minimum of five years working with in civil/structures
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Metallurgical or Mechanical preferred)
- Professional Engineering license preferred
- Knowledge of AISC, ACI, ASME B&PV, AWS and related codes; building and fire codes
- Knowledge and experience using finite element codes (SAP, ANSYS, STRUDL, ROHR, etc.)
- Experience using measurement devices
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, with ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to pass background and drug screenings to obtain security clearances at commercial nuclear plants and Dept. of Energy facilities (U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required for clearances).
- Ability to travel to customer or project sites (moderate travel required)
