What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Revenue Accountant position at SodaStream?
The Associate Revenue Accountant will support the Accounting Team to help achieve the financial and operational goals of the department and company. This role will enjoy a mix of both accounting and finance duties as well the opportunity to collaborate with operational team members and participate in special projects, focused on analytics and process improvements, to drive efficiencies for the company. We are looking for someone who can support our accounting reporting process, assist with the monthly accounting close cycle and other accounting duties to play a key role in achieving our financial results. This role requires someone who is very organized and analytical with great time management skills, as well as comfortable leveraging technology, such as Excel, ERP systems and Business Intelligence tools.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
ACCOUNTING
- Work with the sales team and oversee Trade spend submissions for estimates and actuals
- Manage our Marketing spends and work closely with team to report expenses and accruals
- Assist with Internal Audits
- Partner in monthly close process to calculate and submit:
- Revenue Reduction by line item and retailer into business intelligence tool
- Revenue reconciliations
- Returns Calculations
- Discounts Calculations
- Compliance and Shortage Calculations
- Accrued Marketing
- Audit requests and support, as needed
REPORTING
- Monthly Sales Reporting
- Maintain reports related to customer accounts and return activity
- Leverage Excel and Business Intelligence tools to generate, manipulate and summarize data into Daily, Monthly and Quarterly Reporting packages.
- Evaluate ways to utilize our technology to automate processes and reporting.
- Partner with team members and department leaders to analyze processes, manage programs, and build efficient reports that produce key insights into our work and can help the operations and finance teams make decisions.
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA a plus
- Minimum of four to six years related Accounting and Finance experience
- Advanced excel user, proficiency in computerized accounting applications
- Prior ERP systems (especially Oracle, NetSuite, Cognos) experience preferred
- Very organized with excellent attention to detail and project management skills
- Skill in working on multiple tasks and projects concurrently and in ensuring coordination and integration among related efforts requiring attention to detail in planning and scheduling
- Excellent communicator and facilitator. Dynamic, energetic and self-motivated with strong interpersonal, persuasion and facilitation skills with people of various levels, backgrounds and personalities. Need to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and instructional design expertise
- Proven systems thinking and problem-solving skills applied to technology training work
- Demonstrated passion for personal continuous learning and continuous improvement required
