Principal Function: The Specialty Retail Cashier is responsible for ensuring that guests receive an exceptional level of
service within Sodexo Live!'s retail merchandise outlets and points of sale. Assigned work areas may
include permanent stands or mobile stands or kiosks, typically within a sporting arena, as well as in venue retail stores and/or stand-alone retail stores where sports-related merchandise is sold.
The Specialty Retail Cashier will support Sodexo Live!'s goal to be #1 in Event Hospitality by upholding
Sodexo Live!'s standards for handling cash and credit card transactions.
Responsibilities, Supporting Actions, and End-Results
Major Responsibility: Provide outstanding service to all specialty retail customers.
- Participate in and foster positive team relations with fellow cashiers, other Specialty Retail
- Follow all Sodexo Live! uniform and grooming standards.
- Attend pre-shift or pre-game check-in meetings and follow instructions from managers and
assignments.
- Follow established procedure for time and attendance and taking assigned meal breaks.
- Apply consistent focus on the customer and pay close attention to detail in the performance of all
- Acknowledge each guest who enters specialty retail areas; Display alert posture, smile, make
interactions; Demonstrate Sodexo Live! standards for guest service.
- Offer assistance to guests in locating specific desired merchandise; proactively inquire if they are
- Be fully knowledgeable of merchandize inventory and available styles, colors, sizes and options
are unsure of an answer to a guest's question, contact Retail Supervisor or Manager to find out.
- Use suggestive selling techniques by recommending specific items: "This is our best seller,"
- Utilize up-selling techniques by recommending additional items that complement items already
- Continually observe surroundings and monitor guests in retail areas to ensure they are properly
- Maintain positive, on-going communication with Retail Supervisor; Relate information regarding
suggestions for improving the customer experience in retail outlets.
- Take initiative in fulfilling special guest requests and be creative in resolving guest challenges and
- Perform other tasks and duties from time to time, as directed.
End Results: Guests receive an excellent experience; Operations runs smoothly and efficiently; Profitability is
maximized; All Sodexo Live! standards for guest service, safety, sanitation and product quality are met.
Sodexo Live! retains an excellent reputation; Service, revenue and profit goals are achieved.
Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
