Sodexo Live! is currently hiring for Hospitality Servers - Quick Serve for the Whiteface Ski Mountain in Wilmington NY.
Location: Whiteface Mountain offers 94 trails, 12 lifts, and is the home to the greatest vertical drop East of the Rockies 3430' stretching over 22 miles, longest run is 2.1 miles, encompassing three peaks. The summit is 4,867 feet and the mountain receives more than 200 inches of natural snow annually plus 99% serviced by snow making. There are multiple terrain parks, a great place to work & play.
Principle Function
As a Hospitality Server - Quick Serve at Whiteface Mountain, you will provide exceptional customer service while preparing and serving food and beverages to guests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Your role is critical in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for visitors, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. As part of the Food and Beverage team, you will embody hospitality, teamwork, and a passion for delivering quality service in a dynamic mountain setting.
Essential Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, take orders, and process transactions accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverage items, including alcoholic beverages, adhering to company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, dining areas, and equipment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Restock and replenish supplies, including food, beverages, utensils, and other concession materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Adhere to all cash handling and reporting procedures, ensuring accountability and accuracy.
- Provide information about menu items, promotions, and mountain activities to enhance the guest experience.
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns professionally and promptly, escalating issues to supervisors as necessary.
- Follow all company policies, including those related to alcohol service, food safety, and guest service standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food and beverage service, concessions, or a related field preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices; food handler certification is a plus.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems; cash handling experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak periods as required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
