Location: We are seeking a Logistics Operations Supervisor for the Music City Center.
The Music City Center is Nashville's convention center located in the heart of downtown. The 2.1 million square foot facility opened in 2013 and was built so that Nashville could host large, city-wide conventions in the downtown area. The mission of the Music City Center is to create significant economic benefit for the citizens of the greater Nashville region by attracting local and national events while focusing on community inclusion, sustainability and exceptional customer service delivered by our talented team members.
Principal Function:
The Logistics Operations Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the safe logistical transfer of products and equipment across all locations within the unit. This will include collaboration within Food & Beverage and the Unit's departments, as needed. Furthermore, the Supervisor will ensure egress safety within the Food & Beverage operations by maintaining unobstructed pathways. Finally, the Supervisor will address safety and sanitation concerns as they occur.
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, this individual will support Sodexo Live!'s goal to be #1 in Event Hospitality through advanced planning and preparation for events based on forecasted attendance, and by assigning tasks and delegating responsibilities to Food & Beverage Staff. A top priority will be to ensure that the highest levels of safety, organization and sanitation are maintained throughout all areas.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Overseeing Daily Operations: Managing day-to-day activities related to shipping, receiving, and distribution, including scheduling deliveries, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing order fulfillment.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels, forecasting demand, and implementing inventory control systems to minimize costs and ensure timely availability of goods.
- Staff Supervision: Training, supervising, and managing logistics staff to ensure efficient workflows and adherence to procedures.
- Department Relations: Working with departments ensure timely deliveries, and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Process Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in logistics processes and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Communication and Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth operations and meet customer needs.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing data, and preparing reports to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues related to logistics operations, such as delays, shortages, or damages.
- Safety: Ensuring a safe working environment for all employees in the warehouse and logistics operations.
Qualifications/Skills:
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Logistics Operations in a fast-paced
- Must be able to interact verbally and listen attentively to co-workers and
- Ability to follow written and oral
- Ability to work under pressure and
Preferred:
- Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field degree from an accredited college or
- 2 years' experience in Logistics Operations in a fast paced
Other Requirements:
- Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.
Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
