Location : We are seeking an experienced Unit Controller for the San Diego Convention Center.
The San Diego Convention Center is the region's premier gathering place, hosting conventions, trade shows and community events that economically benefit the City of San Diego and advance our convention and tourism industry. The 2.6 million-square-foot facility is located on sparkling San Diego Bay in the heart of a vibrant downtown and has consistently been recognized as one of the top convention centers in the world. Abundant, flexible space and five-star service make the San Diego Convention Center the meeting planners' choice for hosting major conventions, trade shows, meetings and special events .
Principal Function :
The Unit Controller takes direct responsibility for the financial affairs of the unit by overseeing cash management and credit transactions, general ledger entries, tax and compliance, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, as well as financial analysis and reporting.
With guidance from the Corporate Office and under direction of the Regional Controller, the Unit Controller will work in close partnership with the General Manager and will play a key leadership role in running an efficient, effective, and profitable food and beverage operation.
The Unit Controller will partner with the operations team and other department heads to ensure the development, implementation and enforcement of Sodexo Live!'s standards for accuracy, efficiency, quality and financial performance.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Maximize Sodexo Live!'s revenue and operational excellence through implementation and oversight of systems and policies related to accounting and finance operations.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the business unit by partnering with General Manager and key department heads in providing information, insight, analysis and recommendations to maximize revenues and profits.
- Contribute to goal of making Sodexo Live! #1 in Event Hospitality and the #1 Employer of Choice through personal commitment and leading by example.
