The role:
SoFi is seeking an analytical, data driven, self-motivated professional to join our Treasury Market Risk team as a data analytics associate. This role will provide exposure to the exciting and volatile world of interest rates and capital markets on a daily basis.
The Treasury Market Risk team is responsible for SoFi’s balance sheet hedging activities, investment portfolio management, and production of key asset liability management (ALM) metrics including Net Interest Income (NII) and Economic Value of Equity (EVE). The primary responsibility of this role will be to support the management of these market risk exposures through data analytics and the development of reporting metrics. The role will report into the Sr. Manager of Treasury Market RIsk and Hedging and work closely with Business Units, Capital Markets, and Finance teams.

The primary responsibility of this role will be to support the management of these market risk exposures through data analytics and the development of reporting metrics. The role will report into the Sr. Manager of Treasury Market RIsk and Hedging and work closely with Business Units, Capital Markets, and Finance teams.
What you’ll do:
- Identify, analyze, and develop risk reports to monitor the SoFi’s daily market risk exposure
- Develop and automate senior management reporting packages for key metrics including fair market value, NII, EVE, and stress testing
- Monitor the performance of the ALM model by conducting sensitivity testing of model assumptions, liaising with Risk, Product, and Pricing teams as appropriate
- Document and maintain procedures to serve as reference of processes completed in building the forecasted balance sheet, calibrating model assumptions, and embedding controls
- Collaborate with the Business Units, Finance, and Capital Markets teams to drive strategic projects, lead ALCO initiatives, and support a best-in-class ALM framework
- Perform ad-hoc analyses for hedging and investment strategies as needed in a fast and efficient manner
- Bachelor’s degree with coursework and proven proficiency in Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or related field or equivalent work experience in related fields
- 1-2 years of experience within financial services or consulting
- Proficiency working with complex data sets and the ability to synthesize information into key decision points
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effectively relationships across all levels of the organization
- Ability to work on multiple projects with a high attention to detail
- Proficiency working with large data sets
- Technical skills with Microsoft Excel, VBA, SQL
- Knowledge of Python, R, and Alteryx a plus
- Presentation skills in Microsoft Powerpoint and Google Docs
