We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Millwright to join our team at our Lewiston, ID site. This role is responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment critical to our operations. The Millwright will work with precision tools, technical instructions, and various equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Move, assemble, and install machinery and equipment such as shafting, precision bearings, gearboxes, motors, mechanical clutches, conveyors, and tram rails.
- Use hoists, pulleys, dollies, rollers, and trucks to perform equipment installations and relocations.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, bearing and seal replacement, cleaning during overhauls, and preventative maintenance.
- Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Construct foundations for and assemble, dismantle, and overhaul machinery and equipment using hand and power tools.
- Work with and maintain precision tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, levels, gauge blocks, and optical/laser alignment tools.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors, and related components.
- Apply knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, including valves, cylinders, pumps, and compressors.
- Utilize secondary maintenance skills such as pipefitting and welding as needed.
- Collaborate in a team environment to safely accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of a federally-approved Millwright Apprenticeship program or equivalent Journeyman skill level with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanical field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a multi-skilled millwright (industrial experience preferred but not required).
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and associated components.
- Familiarity with blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical instructions.
- Experience working with precision tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and laser alignment equipment.
- Willingness to learn and utilize additional maintenance skills, including welding and pipefitting.
- Proven ability to work within precise limits and standards of accuracy, applying logical, step-by-step problem-solving procedures.
- Strong commitment to teamwork and a willingness to assist others with tasks as needed.
- Pre-employment physical examination, including drug testing, and a satisfactory background check.
