SCOPE:

Perform duties to identify vendors and purchase designated group of materials and supplies required for the production operations, ensure adequate inventories to process customer orders, working within the limits of standard or accepted practice. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supports Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary and hygienically sound workplace.
Identify and recommend vendors for designated materials and supplies.
Communicate and coordinate with Planning to determine material and supply requirements.
Plan and place orders from authorized vendors, for assigned group of materials and supplies required for production in Green Bay operations and for remote converting plant locations as needed.
Analyze material and supply requirements, schedule purchase of raw materials with supplier, based on schedules, requirements and current inventory levels.
Purchase converting materials not produced in mill from third party vendors and arrange for delivery of materials and supplies from vendors, and issue purchase orders.
Monitor delivery of materials and supplies, contact suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
Enter transactions into SAP, verify and record production status, update computer system and generate management reports.
Monitor raw material trends to plan and ensure availability of appropriate materials and supplies.
OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Employee will use computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, usual office equipment.
Education/Experience: Associates Degree and 3 years related experience or High school diploma and 5 years procurement experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret complicated documents, quality and procedure manuals with the ability to communicate complicated instructions.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Certificates and Licenses Preferences: Experience in SAP or similar inventory and purchasing programs
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season. The employee will be exposed to considerable paper dust and employees will also be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection.
