JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, assists in the planning, forecasting, evaluation, and reports results of products submitted for qualification.
Responsible for development, enhancement, and implementation of test methods / processes.
Responsible for initiating, coordinating testing with other teams, tracking and completing documentation of assigned projects.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Participates in evaluation planning, design and engineering of lab enhancements.
Integrates communication industry architectures, topologies, hardware and software into complete network configurations.
Evaluates new products, makes recommendations for improvement.
Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards.
Implements approved methods of procedure.
Works on projects / systems / issues of medium to high complexity surrounding CATV planning, configuration and optimization.
Provides support across organizations.
Works on one or more projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project team lead.
Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
Knows, understands and follows company policy.
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient knowledge of Coax, Fiber, and ethernet cable splicing
Proficient knowledge of RF test equipment (Keysight, Rhode &Schwartz)
Proficient knowledge of related industry specifications and standards SCTE, ANSI, IEEE, etc.
Proficient knowledge of basic CATV devices and outside plant
Experience with S-parameters or MER requirements
Should be able and willing to work in a lab environment
Proficient knowledge with Amplifiers and / or line extenders
Experience with egress leakage, RFI and channel noise desired
Pluses : Knowledge of ISP (Inside Plant) is a bonus
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Ability to use personal computer and software applications
Ability to work in a lab and team environment
Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly
Proficient knowledge of RF test equipment, spectrum analyzers, or vector network analyzers
Proficient knowledge of related industry specifications and standards SCTE, ANSI, IEEE, etc.
Proficient knowledge in CATV outside plant network design or HFC network architecture
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Sharepoint
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
