Job Title: Data Architect

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to partner with cross-functional teams and contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, flexible, and secure technical systems in support of Regulatory Strategy and Intelligence within the Pharmaceutical Industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, cloud technologies (AWS), and the pharmaceutical development process, with expertise in Snowflakes, RDBMS, ETL, and regulatory systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product & Technology Teams: Partner with product teams, technology services, and other architects to design and implement systems that align with regulatory strategy and intelligence.
- Develop Architecture Artifacts: Work closely with business stakeholders, engineers, platform owners, and other technical teams to create comprehensive architecture artifacts such as business context diagrams, data flow diagrams, data model overviews, content architecture, data pipeline designs, and integration architecture.
- Ensure Alignment to Standards: Ensure architecture is aligned with regulatory, enterprise, and R&D technology strategies, patterns, and standards.
- Enable Scalable Business Solutions: Drive system simplification, integration, and automation to enable business processes at scale.
- Capture Technical Information: Document architecture and design decisions using tools such as Lean IX, SAXpress, Asset Management, Draw-IO, Confluence, MS Teams.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Industry Expertise: Knowledge of regulatory data, content, and terminology used in pharmaceutical development.
- Data Architecture: 5 years of experience as a Data Architect in pharmaceutical development, with expertise in structured RDBMS, Snowflakes, and content management platforms.
- Integration Design: 5 years of experience in integration design, including REST APIs, Kafka, ETL, data pipeline design, API gateways, and data streaming.
- Regulated Systems Architecture: Proven experience designing and architecting regulated systems (e.g., GxP, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Cloud Expertise: Strong knowledge and skills in AWS services, including compute, networking, storage, machine learning, and deployment/management services.
- Technical Leadership: Experience leading technical workshops, conversations, and decision-making processes across stakeholders to drive consensus.
- Business and IT Alignment: Ability to articulate business requirements, direction, and initiatives and translate them into technical solutions.
- Roadmap Development: Experience in surfacing technical requirements and contributing to the development of IT product roadmaps.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Lean IX, SAXpress, Asset Management, Draw-IO, or similar tools for architecture documentation.
- Advanced certifications in AWS or other cloud platforms.
