Position : Tax Accountant

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to manage the financial records for multiple clients and assist with individual income tax preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, particularly in cash-basis accounting and QuickBooks. You will collaborate closely with clients and CPAs, manage month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensure compliance with sales tax and payroll regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Accounting:
- Maintain general ledger and sub-ledgers, ensuring the accuracy of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other entries.
- Identify and correct misclassifications, and perform necessary adjustments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Leverage advanced QuickBooks Online and Desktop skills to create custom reports, troubleshoot issues, and train clients as needed.
Client Management:
- Handle bookkeeping for multiple clients simultaneously in a public accounting or CPA firm environment.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing books for CPA review during tax season.
Tax and Compliance:
- Manage sales and use tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for cash-basis entities.
- Oversee payroll entries and ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.
Tax Preparation:
- Assist with small business tax return preparation (e.g., Schedule C, 1120S, and 1065) and year-end adjusting entries as needed.
- Prepare individual income tax returns.
Client Collaboration:
- Provide support and education to clients on basic accounting principles and best practices in QuickBooks.
- Collaborate with CPAs and other team members to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Proven proficiency in cash-basis accounting principles.
- Advanced expertise in QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
- Experience managing books for multiple clients in a CPA firm or public accounting setting.
- Strong understanding of month-end and year-end close processes.
- Experience with sales tax compliance and payroll management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and CPAs.
- (Preferred) Experience with small business tax returns and year-end adjustments.
- Experience with individual income tax returns.
Salary : $70,000 - $100,000
