What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clean Energy Outreach Consultant position at Softinc?
SOFT's client is looking for an Outreach Consultant for a long term contract assignment. The selected candidate will engage with stakeholders in working towards clean energy goals. The position works across industries including local governments, commercial and industrial contractors, vendors, and customers regarding the implementation of energy efficiency rebate and incentive program offerings. West Virginia residency is required for this role.
· Execute an established outreach plan for the Program and communicate a consistent brand and message.
· Provide one on one assistance to customers and contractors regarding their energy savings opportunities and how to utilize the program’s offerings.
· Provide sector intelligence by analyzing and summarizing data and trends within given markets and identifying opportunities to engage with these sectors.
· Identify outreach opportunities by ascertaining customer requirements and analyzing how the program can reach customers.
· Manage and track leads and project.
· Work closely with other functional groups, including program coordination and engineering.
· Builds relationships with partners, clients and customers.
· Prepares and updates materials for trade shows and events.
· Attend and present at trade shows and events as necessary, to promote and educate businesses on the benefits of the Program.
· Performs a variety of standard project tasks within time & budget of project with limited oversight.
· Develops and deliver educational tools to help Trade Allies and customers adhere to energy efficiency programs.
· Supports the implementation of projects and contributes to develop reports.
· Gains sector/domain-specific knowledge and develop core skills.
· Travel expectations within assigned territory.
· Will travel within Client’s West Viriginia territory and must have reliable transportation.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
· Responsible for maintenance and fees of the transportation vehicle.
· Residency in the State of West Virginia
· Educational/Work experience requirements:
o Bachelor’s degree OR
o Associates degree and 2 years of relevant experience OR
o HS diploma and 4 years of relevant experience
· Experience evaluating the effectiveness of outreach efforts and suggesting alternatives.
· Excellent oral, presentation, and written communications skills.
· Understanding of target audience and how to effectively engage multiple levels of decision making within a company, municipality, or other local government or state agency.
· Team-oriented, hands-on, highly skilled, adaptive, and client-focused.
· Sales or business development experience, preferably within the energy sector, or the design or construction industries.
· Energy efficiency-related certifications are a plus, such as Certified Energy Manager (CSM) or LEED AP (LEED Accredited Professional).
· Experience working with state agencies, public authorities or utilities preferred.
· Experience with commercial or industrial site energy efficiency evaluations or audits a plus.
