Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a correctional facility environment. This role is essential in ensuring the health and safety of incarcerated individuals by delivering comprehensive nursing care and promoting wellness in a secure setting.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications, treatments, and emergency care as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Assess and monitor patient health, documenting findings accurately in medical records.
- Perform initial health screenings for new admissions, including physical assessments and history reviews.
- Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and other healthcare team members to deliver effective care.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the facility and provide appropriate interventions.
- Educate patients about their health conditions, medications, and preventive care practices.
- Ensure compliance with all correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain the safety and security of the healthcare environment while working in collaboration with correctional officers.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a high standard of care.
Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in PA state.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Proficiency in assessing, planning, and implementing patient care plans.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a structured, high-security environment.
- Flexibility to work specified shifts and days as required by the contract.
