Education & Licensing:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN)
- CPR/BLS Certification (required)
Experience & Skills:
- Prior experience in correctional, emergency, psychiatric, or public health nursing (preferred)
- Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a high-stress, secure environment
- Effective communication and de-escalation techniques
Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments, triage, and emergency care
- Administer medications and treatments per facility protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and correctional staff
- Maintain medical records, security awareness, and infection control
- Educate inmates on health conditions and wellness
Work Environment:
- Secure correctional facility with strict safety protocols
- Exposure to high-risk situations and infectious diseases
- Standing, walking, and responding to emergencies required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Travel nursing, Contract
Pay: $45.41 - $52.41 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
