Job Role: Mainframe Developer

Location: Hybrid/Onsite (CA, TX, NJ)

Job Type: W2 Contract (long term contract)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into efficient, scalable mainframe solutions.
• Optimize existing code for performance improvement and system reliability.
• Perform system enhancements, troubleshooting, and bug fixes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and DevOps engineers, for seamless integration.
• Ensure adherence to compliance, security, and quality standards in mainframe application development.
• Work on mainframe modernization efforts, integrating with APIs and cloud-based solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7 years of experience in Mainframe development with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS.
• Strong knowledge of VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and REXX scripting.
• Experience with Performance Tuning, Debugging tools (Xpediter, File-AID), and Batch Processing.
• Hands-on experience in Mainframe DevOps tools like Endevor, Changeman, or CA7.
• Good understanding of mainframe security & compliance standards.
• Experience in modernizing legacy mainframe applications using APIs, web services, or cloud integration is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines in a mainframe environment.
• Experience with Micro Focus or IBM Z Cloud solutions.
• Familiarity with Python, Java, or any scripting languages for automation.
