What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Missile Warning Subject Matter Expert (SME) position at Software Engineering Services?
Performs technical work in support of the functional management of the Integrated Tactical Warning & Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) Command & Control (C2) System. This includes oversight of all ITW/AA systems—from sensors to correlation centers to forward users as well as direct management of ITW/AA C2.
Ensures ITW/AA operational systems (from sensors to correlation centers to forward users) and data communications media effectively accomplish the ITW/AA mission, ensures ITW/AA system integrity and ensures new programs are properly operationally integrated into the ITW/AA system. Works independently or establishes and leads working groups to include the USSPACECOM, co-chaired Operations Approval Board (OAB, O-6 level) and the 2-star level ITW/AA Mission Oversight Board (MOB); directly responsible for the operability and integrity of the ITW/AA mission systems in accordance with the NORAD Agreement & Terms of Reference, CJCSIs 3296/6810, and NORAD/USSPACECOM instructions. Works across multi-organizational boundaries with NORAD/USNORTHCOM, USSTRATCOM, OSD(A&S), US Space Force, and other key ITW/AA stakeholders to ensure National and Combatant Command mission requirements are supported. Performs ITW/AA Change Control Management; provides Missile Warning assessment/characterization data to the President of the United States, Canadian Prime Minister, and Combatant Commanders. Plans and executes and responds to GO-FO level RFIs involving ITW/AA sensors and C2 anomalies. Assists USSPACECOM GSM branch in ITW/AA system troubleshooting and follow-up beyond the scope of current operations.

Contractual Skills Requirements:
- Proficient at MS Office products: Word, Power Point, and Excel.
- Previous Missile Warning/Missile Tracking mission area experience with OPIR (DSP/SBIRS/Future OPIR & Associated Ground Systems) and Ground Based Radar (UEWR) systems operations, policy enforcement, and change management efforts.
- Knowledge of ITW/AA systems, processes, conferencing and CJCSI requirements.
- Knowledge of various roles, capabilities, and issues associated with the ITW/AA C2 network and associated systems.
- Knowledge of a wide range of ITW/AA systems specifics; sensors, correlation centers, data lines, forwards users, capabilities, functions, and operational practices of specific systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; articulate complex issues; and maintain a good working relationship.
Additional (Highly Desired) Qualifications:
- 5-10 Years working in the Missile Warning mission area and familiar with the ITW/AA, TES, and SEWs architecture.
- Retired military or previous military experience.
- CCMD level and/or Joint Staff level staff officer experience.
- CCMD Missile Warning Functional Management Office experience.
- Familiarity with Missile Defense, and Space Situational Awareness missions.
- Strategic missile warning—ITW/AA experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred
