Sr. BA/DA - Prime Finance

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Sr. BA/DA - Prime Finance for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Jersey City, NJ.

Responsibilities :

• Prime Finance business combines asset servicing with financing to provide institutions with an end-to-end service proposition for all their banking needs. In over 80 countries, we work around the clock to enrich the relationships, products, liquidity, and technology that define our market-making global presence. Prime Finance is the stand-alone prime finance business of the world's bank. Every day, emerging to franchise hedge funds turn to us for every part of the trade lifecycle.
• Prime Brokerage Technology sits within the Prime Finance area of firm's Markets Technology division and supports the Prime Finance business, using technological innovation to maintain competitive advantage in a constantly evolving market. Working closely with the business and internal technology teams, you would build-out and maintain our Prime Brokerage platforms across both the cash and synthetics set of products. You would manage complex projects that will involve everything from incorporating a new functionality within the existing ecosystem, to analyzing new requirements, documenting solutions, managing implementation and testing systems, ensuring that they are fit for purpose. You would regularly work with a range of high-profile stakeholders.
• Will apply in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. This role will be accountable for the quality, timeliness of end results of project with varying degree of complexity within the Prime Finance area firm's Markets Technology division.
• Working as a Technical Data Analyst on a multi-year build out of a data analytics platform to support the Prime Finance business owning the capture and documentation of clear data requirements using user stories and Confluence
• Work with the business users on requirement gathering, identifying systematic sources of data, understand the interlinkages between the data sets and have a high-level understanding of any logic or calculations being performed on the data sets as well as the use case
• Document clear test acceptance criteria on requirements for a given engagement and work with QA to develop test strategies for both the data and visualization layers
• Working closely with development teams to break down requirements and ensuring impacts are understood
• Communicate key project risks, define mitigation strategies and manage resolution
• Proactively follows escalation and change control processes
• Manage relationship with Business and take ownership for providing regular project updates to key business and technology stakeholders
  
  

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's University degree or equivalent experience
• 8 years of experience in business and data analysis
• Strong Global Capital Markets knowledge ideally gained within Prime Finance
• A proven track record of business analysis experience and strong familiarity with data analysis techniques
• Strong investigation and data analysis skills with intermediate SQL, basic Python skills
• Proven track record in building out data visualization reporting platforms
• Excellent interpersonal skills to manage stakeholder expectations
• Flexibility to work with a global team, across geographies and time zones
• Demonstrated experience to fully utilize JIRA/Confluence capabilities
• Strong verbal / written communications skills
• Tenacious and prepared to see things through to completion
• Self-starter who works with minimal supervision
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills; ability to build and maintain effective networks and relationships
