Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Full Stack Developer (Angular & Java) for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in Rockville, MD.
This position is hybrid (2 days/week onsite)
Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based applications using AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
- Write high-quality, maintainable code in Java and Python, adhering to best practices and engineering standards.
- Take ownership of innovation by proposing and leading new initiatives that align with business objectives and improve technical capabilities.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices within the team to solve complex challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Optimize applications for scalability, performance, and reliability on AWS infrastructure.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on coding best practices and architectural decisions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in code reviews and continuously improve the quality of the software.
- Optionally, explore and integrate Generative AI technologies into new or existing applications, leveraging libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and OpenAI.
- Act as a thought leader, regularly contributing ideas for technical advancements, process improvements, and new product features.
Required Skills:
- 5 years of professional software engineering experience. (Internship experience does not apply)
- 2 years of experience with AWS services
- 2 years of experience in Agile practices
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud services, including but not limited to EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and CloudFormation.
- Solid experience in front end application developer using Angular.
- Experience designing and deploying scalable, distributed systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A passion for innovation, with a track record of driving new technologies or process improvements.
Preferred Skills:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or equivalent certification.
- Experience with machine learning and generative AI applications.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Experience with machine learning or AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of data processing and storage solutions (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Redshift).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
