Sr. Software Engineer (Java/MongoDB)

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Sr. Software Engineer (Java/MongoDB) for a Contract a ssignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in Rockville, MD .
Hybrid - Rockville, MD (2x a week on-site)

Responsibilities :

• Design and implement highly performant and maintainable applications using Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Architect and model effective MongoDB database schemas to support complex data requirements.
• Leverage AWS services (e.g., EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, Fargate, SQS) to build scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud-native solutions.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to streamline the development and deployment process.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (product, design, and end users) to deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with AdReg teams' business objectives.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related STEM field.
• 7 years of proven software development experience with a strong focus on Java technologies.
• Deep expertise in Spring Boot and related Spring frameworks (Spring MVC, Spring Security, etc.).
• Proficient in working with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including core compute, storage, and Simple Queue Service.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and proficiency with Jenkins automation.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities within a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with front-end technologies (Angular preferred) is a plus.
• Experience with relational databases is a plus.
