Senior Workers' Compensation Defense AttorneyJoin a leading defense law firm specializing in workers' compensation, employment law, and general liability. This role invites seasoned attorneys with at least four years of experience in workers' compensation, whether on the plaintiff or defense side. The position is fully remote with optional office spaces, designed to offer flexibility and support to experienced legal professionals who seek to advance their career while maintaining work-life balance. As a key member of our team, you'll manage and lead the defense of workers' compensation claims, interacting closely with insurance carriers, self-insured employers, and third-party administrators from case inception to resolution.Salary : $120,000.00 - $210,000.00 per yearEssential Duties and Responsibilities : Advocate on behalf of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers.Prepare and manage all forms of correspondence with clients including drafting pleadings and negotiating settlements.Attend and represent at court appearances, manage a legal calendar, and conduct depositions and cross-examinations of medical and field experts.Handle negotiations regarding lien claims and actively manage cases to ensure efficient resolution.Mentor and guide legal assistants and support staff to improve office efficiency and case handling.Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and external vendors.Participate in and sometimes lead marketing events aimed at fostering relationships with current and prospective clients.Uphold a comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of workers' compensation laws and relevant case law.Provide training seminars for clients on emerging and current issues in workers' compensation law.Minimum Position Qualifications : Minimum of 4 years recent experience in workers' compensation law.Active California Bar license.Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet strict deadlines.Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred Qualifications : Experience in defense side of workers' compensation preferred.Familiarity with PracticeMaster and other legal case management software.Demonstrable experience in handling depositions and court appearances.Skills : Strong litigation and advocacy skills.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Capable of mentoring and leading junior staff and legal support teams.Strong client management and relationship-building skills.Benefits : Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) with employer matchingUnlimited Paid Time Off for AttorneysFirm paid Long Term Disability and Life InsuranceRemote work flexibilityContinuous professional training and learning opportunities#J-18808-Ljbffr
