NCDOT - AWP Technical Specialist

Technical Specialist serves as SME for AASHTOWare Project software analyzes data creates User Stories engineering / reengineering current / future processes develops SQL queries XML interface changes works as part of a SCRUM team to deliver software.

• THIS IS A TEMP TO PERM POSITION. After theinitial contract engagement the manager would like to hire the contractorfulltime dependent on satisfactory performance. The salary range for the newpermanent position is anticipated to be in the range of $$$900 $$$851(max)per year. NCDIT / NCDOT do not offer sponsorship for the fulltime role. Onlycandidates available to work fulltime without sponsorship will be consideredfor this position.
• The candidate has to be located in NC. Onlycandidates living in NC will be considered.
• T he candidate will need to use their own equipment from home toremote into the worksite (PC set up in the organization).

This position willbe serving as a Technical Specialist / Expert SME for AASHTOWare ProjectsPreconstruction Civil Rights and Labor and Data Analytics modules and responsible fordefining User Stories NCDOT software implementation and enhancement request. Individuals shouldhave strong general knowledge of application development and architectureprincipals and knowledge of AWP modules / products. They areresponsible for ensuring team comprehension of technical and functionalconcepts to support working with the development team and Preconstruction Product Manager. Work will include documenting NCDOT User Stories specific to NCDOT Bidding and Letting business processes using AWP software but may also work on User Stories with other AWP Modules as needed. This position will perform this work by developing Use Cases Test Cases TestScripts UX modifications using XML reporting using SQL in an Agile / DevOpssoftware development team. This position will be responsible for software quality for new enhancements as assigned ensuringthe highest possible quality outputs and reducing technical debt throughadherence to AWP implementation Best Practices and Standards provided byAASHTO and its vendor. This person will provide support for Pilot projects in development and designing integrations with other legacy NCDOTapplications and systems (SAP / SharePoint etc.) This position will beresponsible for meeting with NCDOT stakeholders to gather intelligence and demonstratesystem capabilities. This position is responsible for working withother analysts and developers to break down the design into milestones and work itemstracking status of progress managing communication and dependencies both to the technicalteam and to the business customer as needed. This individual will also coordinate testvalidation and rollout for functional components ensuring customers areinformed & trained with sufficient help & training materials. Our preferences are for familiarity and experience with AASHTOWare Project Preconstruction modules DOT preconstruction letting processes considerable experience performing complex analysis agiledevelopment conventions such as SCRUM and general familiarity with Agile development life cycle in a state levelDepartment of Transportation(DOT). This individual will work directly for the NCDITTransportationLetting and Compliance Systems (LCS) manager.
