Job Description:
- Company is recruiting for a Junior Engineer in the Water Services Engineering Group. Under the general direction of the Water Services Engineering Manager, the Junior Engineer assists in office engineering and other related work as required.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with engineering work related to the preparation of plans for new main extensions, fire service, hydrant, and domestic service connections for developer-funded projects and capital improvement main replacement projects.
- Make effective use of AutoCAD and coordinate design of new facilities with existing and proposed utilities.
- Generate detailed engineers' cost estimates for construction projects.
- Prepare construction bid documents and procure required permits.
- Perform engineering calculations, research, and analysis for projects assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Functional use of engineering mathematics and ability to solve problems with engineering calculations.
- Ability to work independently and to complete challenging assignments.
- Competent in the use of engineering and office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access and other software employed by the company.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- Possession of a valid EIT certificate and land development experience is preferred.
