Progressively responsible experience similar to that listed in the job functions or related information technology field may be substituted year for year for the degree. In addition to the degree, this position requires one to two years of experience, which must include: Working with Linux servers in an enterprise environment; Experience in the installation and maintenance of operating systems software and support utilities, including Linux process accounting, security software, and script programming; Experience in managing EMC Storage and backup solutions. Preferred Experience Previous experience with the deployment and management of large-scale Redhat Linux environments. Red Hat Linux engineer certification (RHCE). Experience with virtualization tools. Experience with VMware, Avamar/Data Domain, Nagios. Duties and Responsibilities: Job Details: this position assists in the oversight of the entire CCCS Linux system. This involves the performance of system administration tasks on large-scale Linux systems in a multi-vendor, high performance computing environment. The Linux Administrator will assist in performing CCCS Linux installation, including project management. This position will also be supporting the administration for the EMC VNX SAN and Avamar/Data Domain systems. This Linux Admin must have competent networking skills and familiarity with both TCP/IP and high-speed proprietary interconnects. The position also requires proficiency in patching and building Linux kernels.
