POSITION SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Director of Food and Beverage and Club Room Manager, the Club Room Maître d' oversees the operations of the floor, mainly in the Club Room, and assists with other F&B outlets. The Club Room Maître d' supervises bartenders, servers, host, barbacks, runners, bussers, baristas, and, in-room dining servers, to maintain a high service standard and exceed guest expectations. Additionally, they assist the Club Room Manager with large party reservations, building regulars, and the programming of DJs and promoters. The Club Room Maître d' is at the forefront of customer service, providing guests with above-and-beyond hospitality to ensure a memorable and genuine experience.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide genuine, professional service as defined by Soho Grand’s Service Culture. Follow through with guest requests; ensure service is timely, accurate and maintains a high service standard.
- Monitor and ensure that all tables are cleared and reset according to department procedures.
- Assist Lounge team members with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.
- Assist Host in greeting and escorting guests to their tables according to departmental procedures. Ensure that tables are seated to best service the guests.
- Maintain a meticulously clean/organized workspace, in accordance with look book standards set, and inventory par levels.
- Enforcing standards of service on all levels and work on maintaining and improving them with all staff including appearance where necessary.
- Assist in training and onboarding new team members. Help with their development to improve their skills and confidence on the floor.
- Conduct daily effective and informative pre-shift meetings with team members.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and service standards at all times.
- Assist F&B office manager and receiver for weekly OS&E inventory.
- Assist F&B office manager with large party reservations.
- Submit weekly Club Room Large party reservation forecast.
- Assist Club Room Manager with Club Room programing. Marketing / Outreach.
- Assist with any logistical & administrative duties assigned by the Director of Food & Beverage and Club Room Manager.
- Communicating any maintenance or cleanliness issues to the proper channels.
- Professionally and clearly communicate on company email.
- Maintaining the space throughout the shift. Communicating any maintenance or cleanliness issues to the proper channels. Maintaining ambiance, sound and lights (including public spaces).
- Handle void checks in accordance with accounting procedures.
- Assist servers with expediting problem payments. Ensure all cashiering procedures are processed in compliance with accounting standards.
- Issue manual checks when the system is down and ensure accountability of such.
- Run system-closing reports and ensure that all servers' checks are closed before they sign out.
- Ensure all closing duties for team member are completed before team members sign out.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of experience working in high volume & luxury properties and nightlife venues.
- Excellent guest service skills, and the ability to maintain professional service during peak periods.
- Knowledge of food and all allergies related to food and beverage.
- Food handler card.
- Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
- Provide legible communication.
- Advanced Microsoft office.
- Compute basic arithmetic.
- Have the ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, and carry multiple objects.
ABILITY TO
- Complete accurate inventory and maintain par levels for all F&B outlets.
- Maintain DOH standards throughout shift and a clean workspace.
- Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment. Demonstrate ownership of the guest experience.
