Grand Bar & Salon is looking for a General Manager to join the team.
The General Manager of the Grand Bar & Salon is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational execution of one of the property’s flagship food and beverage venue. The role demands a highly skilled, hands-on leader who combines refined hospitality expertise with operational excellence, team development, and financial oversight.
The Grand Bar & Salon is a sophisticated, high-volume environment, requiring the General Manager to maintain exceptional service standards, team performance, and guest satisfaction, while aligning with the property's broader brand and business goals. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and inspire a diverse team of servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff to uphold exceptional service standards.
- Recruit, train, and manage team members, conducting regular performance evaluations and coaching sessions.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and creativity in line with Grand Bar & Salon’s identity.
- Schedule staffing based on projected business levels and special events; approve payroll and labor reports.
- Train, evaluate, and mentor team members and F&B Floor Managers to ensure consistent leadership across all shifts.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Ensure that every guest receives a memorable experience rooted in genuine hospitality, attentiveness, and ambiance.
- Maintain a strong floor presence during service, especially during peak hours and live performances.
- Ensure all team members maintain the integrity of the brand while always providing outstanding guest service.
- Ensure exceptional guest service, engaging with guests and addressing concerns in a professional manner.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee operations, including opening and closing procedures, service execution, and crowd management.
- Ensure FOH and BOH teams are coordinated and communication flows effectively.
- Implement and uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Monitor maintenance needs and ensure the venue remains in excellent condition.
Financial & Business Management
- Manage budgets, labor, and cost to meet or exceed financial targets.
- Oversee inventory control, ordering, and vendor relationships in coordination with the F&B Director.
- Track sales, margins, and performance, including sales, profit margins, labor costs, and inventory control without negatively impacting brand promise to our guests, generate weekly and monthly reports.
Inventory Management & Equipment Maintenance
- Oversee and direct the monthly inventory management of food, beverages, and operating equipment to ensure optimal stock levels and cost control.
- Implement efficient inventory tracking systems to minimize waste, prevent shortages, and maintain accurate records.
Sales & Promotions
- Support marketing initiatives by implementing actively encouraging the team to communicate with our guest especially regarding any special events, seasonal offerings and exciting happenings on property.
- Encourage upselling techniques among team to increase revenue and enhance guest experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- 4 years of experience in food and beverage management.
- Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-energy environments with shifting timelines and diverse clientele.
- Excellent guest relations skills and the ability to interact with high-profile guests, performers, and industry professionals.
- Strong knowledge of service protocols, cocktail culture, and live performance dynamics.
- Familiarity with POS systems (Spot On, Toast or Micros), reservation systems (Resy, Seven Rooms), and nightlife management tools.
- Deep understanding of NYC nightlife and entertainment culture.
- Flexible schedule with availability for nights, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A calm, commanding presence with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
