While this position requires an on site presence at Pt. Hueneme, CA.
This role will require a strong skill-set and will be focused on the Technical Manual Support Services for the Aegis Weapon System (AWS). Strong experience in Framemaker 19 is required, as is extensive experience with DOD documentation and an Active Secret Clearance.
The Technical Editor will be responsible for accurately editing both format and structure for Technical Manuals for the Department of Navy. You will produce structured electronic manuals in SGML, XML and S1000D in compliance per Navy approved DTDs. The candidate will be trained on S100D and Microsoft Quicksilver.
In this position you will be part of a team that is key in providing detailed and precise Technical Manuals for the Navy (Ships, Subs, Military Watercraft, and Unmanned Systems)
Responsibilities :
- Execution of tasks supporting Technical Data Elements, development, distribution, and sustainment of
- required Technical Documentation, Manuals, Publications and Notices
- Development and update of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs)
- Support in execution of tasks in the areas of Sustainment Analysis and Sustainment Planning
- Identification and elevation of technical and schedule risks
- Acting as a liaison with all engineering disciplines, such as Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Test, Materials
- and Processes, and Structural design functions
- Developing operator-level and maintainer-level documentation for complex Navy systems (ships, subs, military watercraft, and unmanned systems)
- Collaborating with functional management, program management and execution team to ensure technical success while balancing goals, approaches, and risks
